The web version of WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, is getting two major updates. A new chat share sheet and a redesigned emoji panel are among the changes. Some beta testers already have access to the changes, and additional users will get them in the upcoming days.
The conversation share sheet has had a complete redesign to become more manageable and has given each icon a name for simpler navigation.
However, there has also been a revamp of the emoji panel. It used to fill the full bottom of the screen, but now the sticker and GIF tabs are displayed beside it, independently and in a lesser size.
WhatsApp recently redesigned its user interface with the goal of improving the user experience. They already released two updates for the native Windows app. Users could prevent messages from disappearing thanks to one update, while a reaction bar was added to the message menu in another.
Users can stop some messages from deleting by using the "keep messages" option. Both the desktop Electron version of WhatsApp and the mobile apps already have this capability. To keep a certain message, users can choose the "keep" option from the message menu.
The chat details screen will provide a list of these messages for convenient access. By using the "upkeep" option, users can still decide which messages they want to keep or let expire.
