At their meeting on Wednesday at General Headquarters (GHQ), General Sir Patrick Nicholas Yardley Monrad Sanders, the Chief of General Staff of the British Army, and General Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, both expressed their gratitude for the Pakistani Army's contributions to the fight against terrorism and their efforts to advance regional peace and stability.
CGS UK Army arrived at the GHQ and laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. According to a press statement from Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), an appropriately attired force of the Pakistani Army provided the esteemed visitor with the guard of honour.During the meeting, issues of common interest and regional security challenges were discussed.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, had earlier received a visit from the CGS UK at Joint Staff Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
