Users may now transmit photographs in their original resolution thanks to a new feature added to WhatsApp. Thanks to this much-needed functionality, users may now share high definition (HD) photos without having to resize them.
It has been reported that WhatsApp is attempting to offer an HD quality option for videos as well, following the adoption of this functionality for photos.
Wabetainfo reported that WhatsApp is testing a feature that enables users to send high-quality movies while using the most recent version of the app, WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.13.0.76.
After this feature has been improved, users will be able to share high-quality movies by simply changing the media's quality before sharing.
The new option, according to the article, would still apply a little amount of compression while maintaining the video's original resolution. Users will thus be able to share videos even when they are unable to do so in their original quality in an improved format.
For videos, "Standard quality" will always be the default setting, just like the high-quality photo feature. To send a new video in HD resolution, users must select the high-quality option each time they want to share one with others.
The HD video functionality will not be available for submitting videos via WhatsApp status updates, according to the report. Although it is presently in beta testing, it is anticipated that all users will have access to the functionality in subsequent app updates.
