According to ARY News, the suspension of mobile broadband internet services since Tuesday has resulted in a major financial loss of around Rs2.49 billion to Pakistan's telecom sector. This is the fourth day of service suspension in various regions of the country as a result of the riots that occurred following the detention of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Mobile broadband services earn Rs280 million in revenue for the government per day. As a result, the government has suffered a significant loss of roughly Rs860 million as a result of the suspension.
Beyond financial considerations, the impact extends to e-commerce, internet services, home delivery, and ride-hailing applications. The suspension of broadband internet services has impacted about 150,000 bike riders in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
Furthermore, the All Pakistan Software Export Association claimed a major loss of Rs10 billion in the software business in the last three days. Unfortunately, there is currently no indication of internet restoration in the country, according to authorities within the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
