On Monday, March 11th, the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which is in charge of identifying the moon in Pakistan, will meet in Peshawar to decide when the holy month of Ramadan officially begins. The committee's leader, Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad, will preside over the meeting. During it, they will gather information and speak with witnesses to determine whether or not the crescent moon, which marks the beginning of Ramadan, has been sighted.

During Ramadan, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad stressed the need of planning moon gazing events around Pakistan. On the appointed evening, he invited every Pakistani to take part in the moon quest.

By making it easier to spot and announce the arrival of the Ramadan moon, the gathering hopes to accurately mark the beginning of this fortunate month for Muslims around the country.
