According to new information provided by Wynn, a US casino operator, the first gambling resort built in the UAE is anticipated to cost $3.9 billion and open in four years.
According to Wynn Resorts' website, the resort in Ras Al-Khaimah, one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates, would provide "exceptional entertainment and gaming amenities."
Although the wealthy Gulf state's Islamic laws generally forbid gambling, Ras Al-Khaimah's tourism development authority revealed plans to establish a new regulatory body that would supervise "integrated resorts," which include those with gaming amenities, last year.
Wynn Resorts said on Thursday that preliminary construction has started on Wynn Al Marjan Island, which will be located on a built-up peninsula dotted with hotels.
The resort will have 1,500 rooms, 24 dining and entertainment options, spa services, "high-end" boutiques, and nightly laser and light displays. Wynn has altered the launch date to early 2027.
A brown-gold tower with a beachfront and a circular harbor is depicted on the site, which is around an hour's drive from Dubai's commercial district. The lobby is luxuriously decorated.
