11-Year-Old Girl Creates AI App to Detect Eye Disease with 70% Accuracy
Leena Rafeeq, an 11-year-old from Kerala, created an artificial intelligence (AI) programme that employs an innovative iPhone scanning technique to find eye disorders and other ailments.

Keralan 11-year-old Leena Rafeeq's artificial intelligence (AI) program uses a novel scanning method on an iPhone to discover eye conditions and other illnesses. Ogler EyeScan is the programme's name, developed by Ms. Leena when she was ten.

She posted a video demonstration and explained how her programme functions on LinkedIn. She claimed that her program uses "advanced computer vision and machine learning" to examine different parameters, such as light and colour intensity, distance, and look-up points, to find the eyeballs inside the picture.

She continued that it also determines whether there are any light burst problems and whether the eyes are precisely positioned inside the scanner frame. 

Using trained models, potential eye conditions such as cataracts, arcus, melanoma, and pterygium are detected after the correct scanning method.

According to Ms. Rafeeq, "This App was developed natively with SwiftUI without any third-party libraries or packages, and it took me six months of research and development to bring this Innovative App to Life."
