Asad Ali Memon, a Pakistani climber, gets stranded on Nepal's Mount Everest in a terrible circumstance.
On May 19, Memon reached the peak without incident, but on the way down, he had a mishap that injured his hand.
Memon has contacted the Pakistani embassy in Kathmandu urgently to ask for their assistance in setting up his safe homecoming.
He described how he slipped between Camps 4 and 3, crashing into an ice screw, breaking a bone in his hand.
Memon described in detail his arduous journey back to Base Camp in a WhatsApp message.
Normal return times from the summit are one to two days, but because of his wounded hand, it took him three exhausting days to get to Base Camp.
Upon arrival, he received prompt medical care.
Memon explained his situation by saying, "Due to the severity of my hand injury, I am unable to fly to Kathmandu. Given the unpredictability of the weather, airlifting from Base Camp is the best option.
Asad Ali Memon, a student from Karachi who is 24 years old, is the first mountaineer from Sindh to successfully summit Mount Everest. He's enrolled in a private university right now.
