The chief of the Army Staff, General Asim Munir, urged lawmakers to stop debating whether Pakistan is New Pakistan or Old Pakistan and instead turn their attention to Our Pakistan on Friday.
General Munir voiced concerns about the resources given to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for counterterrorism operations and covert negotiations that helped unite divided parties during an in-camera meeting to discuss current national security issues.
General Munir emphasized in his speech that Pakistan has plenty of resources and human capital and is up to its people to decide the nation's future.
He promised lawmakers that they would have the Army's unshakable support as they worked to further the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
General Munir said the Pakistani people are the center of gravity, representing their views in the country's Constitution and Parliament. He emphasized how the people may express their opinions and influence the country's destiny through the Parliament and the Constitution.
In addition to Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, the meeting was attended by the directors general of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Operations, the chief secretary of Punjab, and the inspectors general of police from each of the four participating provinces.
General Munir's appeal to prioritize Pakistan and the country's growth and prosperity reminds us of the value of cooperation and unity among all parties, including the government, military, and people. Pakistan's citizens may overcome obstacles and create a better future by cooperating to achieve a common objective.
