From Today, Pakistan’s Monsoon Rains Are Predicted to Get Stronger.

The PMD issued a warning that excessive rain could result in landslides in the vulnerable regions of Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, and hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 18 (night) to 22 and urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore.

While tourists and travellers were urged to exercise additional caution to prevent any dangerous situations during the wet spell, farmers were advised to manage their activities while taking the weather forecast into account.

From July 19 (evening/night) to July 23, the PMD alert for Sindh includes dust-thunderstorm/rain (with isolated heavy falls) possible in the districts of Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, and Dadu.

Additionally, it warned that from July 20 to 22, with sporadic breaks, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Badin, Thatta, and Karachi districts are likely to have dust-thunderstorm/rain (with isolated heavy falls).

As the nation experiences another terrible monsoon season that has claimed nearly 100 lives since June 25, the weather prediction agency has asked all authorities concerned to remain "alert" during the projected period.

According to the PMD's most recent advisory, rain/wind-thundershower (with heavy falls) is anticipated under the influence of new weather systems in Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur), Gilgit Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar), Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Okara, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Kasur, Mianwali, Sargodha, Faisalabad. 

From July 18 (night) to July 23, with sporadic breaks, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, D.I. Khan, Bannu, Karak, and Waziristan were all covered.

Additionally, rain/wind-thundershowers are predicted for July 19 (night) through July 21 with sporadic breaks in Barkhan, Loralai, Kalat, Khuzdar, Zhob, Lasbella, Awaran, Musakhel, DG Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Bhakkar, Layyah, Kot Addu, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Larkana, and Jacobabad.
