In order to address the growing issue of unauthorised loan applications, the Pakistani government has taken tough measures against dishonest loan providers. Amin-ul-Haque, the federal minister for information technology and telecommunication, has said the government will take immediate action to address this problem, underlining its urgency.
Major General (r) Hafeezur Rehman, the chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), has given immediate instructions to address the issue of unauthorised loan applications. As a result, 43 loan applications have already been denied by the PTA. The Securities and Exchange Commission registered these businesses, highlighting how crucial it is to put an end to unethical lending practises.
Minister Amin-ul-Haque has made public the use of social media sites like Facebook by criminal gangs to carry out fraudulent operations. Untrustworthy people have been the targets of these immoral organisations' blackmail, which takes advantage of their financial weaknesses for gain.
An extensive public awareness effort has been initiated to increase awareness and protect citizens from falling victim to these fraudulent practises. The public is asked to notify the PTA, the Federal Investigation Agency's (FIA) Cybercrime wing, or local police stations of any suspicious loan applications or occurrences involving loan criminal gangs.
To combat the rising tide of cybercrime in the nation, the government is enlisting the cooperation of several law enforcement authorities.
