The price of gasoline will remain at Rs282 per liter for the next two weeks, according to finance minister Ishaq Dar, while the cost of high-speed diesel has fallen by Rs5 per liter to Rs288.
Rs10 would decrease the price of light diesel oil and kerosene to Rs164.68 and 176.07 per liter, respectively, the finance minister stated in a video speech today.
After considering the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's recommendations, Dar asserted that the finance ministry had tried everything possible to address the price adjustment problem in the country's interest. He asserted that the final pricing revisions were made after "many rounds" of discussion.
Between April 1 and April 15, the country consumed 15,500 tonnes of high-speed diesel and nearly 20,000 tonnes of petrol daily.
Between 8,000 and 10,000 tonnes of high-speed diesel were reportedly smuggled into Pakistan daily. Still, Iranian petrol was less popular owing to its slightly lower quality and the general fall in fuel demand.
