In over 20 years, British Airways has unveiled a brand-new uniform that gives women the option to wear a hijab. The uniform was meticulously stitched by Ozwald Boateng and is a representation of Savile Row craftsmanship.
In consideration of religious and cultural sentiments, as well as for the benefit of the female workers, the hijab is permitted. The crew members will put on their uniforms after the ground workers and engineers.
Men's uniforms are formal three-piece suits, while women's options include skirts, pants, tunics, headscarves and even jumpsuits.
Changes have been made in response to demands from engineers and ground personnel to make it easier to reach pocket tools and select a suitable glove fabric for touchscreen use.
By fusing red and blue for both male and female workers, the long-standing British Airways uniform motif has been preserved.
Additionally, the air movement above the plane's wing served as the inspiration for the uniform's pattern.
British Airlines will recycle old uniforms to save the environment and encourage recycling.
