Power Tariff Increase Of Rs 1.25 Per Unit Approved By NEPRA
The hearing on the petition to extend the duration of the quarterly adjustment in power pricing was completed.

The petition for extending the timeframe of the quarterly adjustment in power rates was heard and concluded.

The price of power would go up by Rs. 1.25 per unit, as authorised by NEPRA. It will be possible to raise an additional Rs 46 billion from electricity users. From January through March, there will be a change in the price of power.

NEPRA reports that this year's hike in electricity costs will be effective from June to September. Later, a thorough decision regarding electricity rates will be made.

According to Nepra, the federal government will be notified before the hike in energy rates is put into effect. Currently, consumers must pay an additional 47 paise per unit, but that amount will increase to 47 paise per unit by the end of June.
