Rain Is Expected to Persist Through July 8, According to the Meteorological Department

Monsoon rains have been predicted by the meteorological department across the nation, increasing worries of flooding and landslides in hilly places.

The highest regions of the country are being hit by humid winds coming from the Arabian Sea, according to the meteorological department. 

Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Guliyat, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Central Punjab are anticipated to see heavy rainfall or hailstorms until July 8. This is because a series of western winds have penetrated the upper areas of the country.

Up until July 8, urban flooding brought on by heavy rain is expected in the lowland regions of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore. Landslides are also anticipated in the mountainous regions of Murree Guliyat, Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Murree has seen landslides as a result of persistent rain, and severe rain is expected to start today.

During the evening or night, wind and thundershowers are predicted in Murree, Galiat, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Attock Chakwal, Sargodha, and Faisalabad. Farmers have been urged to be on guard due to recent rainstorms in Bahawalnagar, Narowal, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Lahore. It is also predicted to rain with wind and thunder in these cities.

On the other hand, the NDMA spokesman predicts that many regions will see storms and severe rain. Rains present a risk of landslides in steep locations, while floods may happen in lowlands during monsoon rains.

Due to the possibility of monsoon rains, the NDMA has issued directives to the relevant organisations. The relevant institutions have been told to make sure that emergency equipment and personnel are there. The district administration has made sure that emergency medical personnel are on hand. Before departing, travellers and tourists should be careful of the weather.

Because of the weather, farmers and cattle owners should take the required precautions. Residents of flood-prone areas should receive advance notice from relevant institutions.
