Nearly 70% of the soccer balls used worldwide are produced in Sialkot, continuing a long tradition of creating sporting goods. The companies produced the World Cup 2022 balls and sold a lot of replicas to the fans as well.
According to data provided by the local chamber of commerce, Sialkot produced more than 43 million soccer balls in 2021–2022 at a cost of $191 million. Additionally, during the first six months of 2022–23, the export of footballs created in Pakistan grew and reached 53.58%.
The statistics show Pakistan's considerable role in the production of sporting goods, which it does in competition with China and India. With its products being shipped to numerous nations throughout the world, Sialkot continues to be the top supplier of sporting goods.
