Due to load shedding and high heat, a student tragically perished today during his board exam for the eleventh grade.
The incident happened at the Government Degree College in Sindh's Khairpur district of Thiri. To take their tests, many students had assembled at the testing location.
Mehtab Ali, the student, passed out during his exam and was transported right away to the hospital. He unfortunately died since his life could not be saved.
According to early assessments, the student likely suffocated to death.
According to reports, load shedding led to a lack of electricity and extreme heat, putting the students in risk. Everyone there found the examination room to be intolerably hot as the temperature increased dramatically.
Ismail, the Minister for Education Board, had earlier advised officials to provide continuous power supply at testing locations, particularly in light of Sindh's high temperatures.
This incident demonstrates a failure to take the required precautions to protect students' lives and wellbeing while they are taking crucial exams.
It is significant to note that the province-wide summer break had already been announced by Sindh's education department.
All educational institutions will be closed from June 1 through July 31, 2023, per the announcement, with schools resuming on August 1.
In light of this unfortunate event, it is now being questioned whether it was a good idea to hold exams in May under the sweltering heat without a reliable power source.
