When Should Karachi Expect 'Heavy Rain' Due to Cyclone
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a warning that Karachi might see heavy rain from June 13 to June 16 as a result of the impending Cyclone "Biparjoy" over the Arabian Sea.

As a result of the approaching Cyclone "Biparjoy" over the Arabian Sea, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that Karachi would likely see heavy rain from June 13 to June 16.

Southeast Sindh is expected to have large thunderstorms and winds that gust between 60 and 80 km per hour. At Keti Bandar Port, the waves might go up to a maximum height of 8 to 10 feet.

Social media has already been used to spread footage showing severe gusts in regions near the shore. The areas of Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Sajawal, and Tharparkar have received heavy rainfall warnings. The fisherman are urged to stay out of the open water until the threat has passed since high tides might occur.

According to the chief meteorologist, Dr. Sadar Sarfraz, the cyclone's centre is where maximum surface winds are found to be between 150 and 260 km/h with gusts up to 180 km/h.

To prevent any danger to life and property, it is urged that residents of the aforementioned locations refrain from making needless trips to the coast.
