The well-known video-sharing website YouTube has unveiled a brand-new "Dream Screen" option for short-form content producers. With the use of prompts, this technology enables users to quickly produce AI-generated videos or image backgrounds for "shorts," or short-form videos.
According to Toni Reid, vice president of community goods at YouTube, a variety of features and products have been added to encourage creative expression. Both short-form and long-form videos can be edited on the platform with the help of these AI-powered production tools.
In the market for short-form videos, services like TikTok and Instagram Reels fiercely compete with YouTube. They've introduced these additional features to draw in more users and creators in order to remain competitive.
In addition to "Dream Screen," YouTube is also launching a mobile app called "YouTube Create" that is intended to help creators. This software has AI capabilities including editing, trimming, voiceovers, automated captioning, access to filters, and music that isn't restricted to a particular genre. The software will initially be free and is now undergoing beta testing on Android in a few markets.
More AI-powered tools for insights, auto-dubbing, and discovering music and soundtracks for creators' videos are also something YouTube plans to offer.
