KARACHI - As the shortfall reached 6,516 megawatts, the length of power load shedding was extended up to ten hours in various parts of Pakistan.
According to reports, the demand for power reached a peak of 28,000 MW versus the 21,484 MW of supply that was on hand.
Current energy production includes 7,037 MW from hydropower, 956 MW from thermal power plants operated by the government, 8,900 MW from plants in the private sector, 1,119 MW from wind power plants, 120 MW from solar power plants, and 3,164 MW from nuclear power plants.
In the meantime, the majority of the country is predicted to see extremely hot and humid weather during the next twelve hours, while plain areas are likely to experience strong gusts that will raise dust.
However, Northeast Punjab, Islamabad, the Potohar region, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, North/East Baluchistan, and Kashmir are predicted to see dust-thunderstorms and rain.
It stated that during the projected period, the current heat wave conditions are likely to abate.
