The Pakistan Air Force Fulfils A  Sick Karachi Boy's Dream By Giving Him A Day As A Pilot
Thalassemia patient Abdullah Naveed's lifelong dream of becoming a pilot was accomplished on Friday when Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base commander Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber hired him as a pilot for the day.

Abdullah Naveed, a thalassemia patient, had always wanted to be a pilot, and on Friday, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber realised his lifelong goal by hiring him as a pilot for the day at a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) base. Abdullah Naveed had always envisioned himself as a fighter pilot, reflecting the PAF's historical association with many young Pakistanis.

Abdullah visited a PAF operational base where he was given an honorary rank by Southern Air Command Air Officer Commanding Air Vice Marshal Khalid Mehmood and Base Commander Air Commodore Asim Rana in the customary PAF fashion. The activity was sponsored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pakistan.

Master Abdullah Naveed, who has thalassemia, was given an honorary rank and appointed a pilot for the day at a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) operating base during the sponsored programme by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Pakistan.

Additionally, he was given a simulation of piloting a fighter jet and given a tour of the base's various units and wings. Abdullah shared his enthusiasm and excitement about the once-in-a-lifetime event while being accompanied by his parents and the founding president of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ishtiaq Baig.
